Position Overview:

We are looking for a knowledgeable Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, and networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of system infrastructure and be adept at troubleshooting issues to ensure the smooth functioning of our IT environment. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.

• Install, configure, and maintain networking equipment, including, but not limited to, switches, routers, and wireless access points.

• Managing devices and endpoints through MDM systems.

• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and uptime.

• Implement security measures to protect systems, data, and networks from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with company policies.

• Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to address technical issues and support business initiatives.

• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to recommend improvements and enhancements to existing systems.

• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and training purposes.

• Provide peer oversight of help desk and repair areas.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.

• Strong proficiency with Mac, Linux, and/or Windows server environments.

• Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus.

• Proven experience with multiple MDM vendors, such as Jamf, Mosyle, InTune, etc.

• Apple Deployment and Management experience.

• Experience with scripting, BASH, Python, etc.

• Experience with facility security, including cameras, doors, etc.

• Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools and system administration automation.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, CCNA) are desirable.

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
